Remarks by President Yoon Suk Yeol at the Korea-Japan Summit
2023.11.16 -
[Unofficial Translation]
I am pleased to see Prime Minister Fumio Kishida again just two months after our meeting at the G20 Summit. This is already our seventh summit this year, and I am delighted that the trust between our two countries is growing deeper and that Korea-Japan relations continue to move in a very positive direction.
This year summit diplomacy and exchanges at all levels have been revitalized, and intergovernmental consultative bodies have been restored, deepening the bilateral cooperation. With the resumption of the ROK-Japan Security Policy Consultation and Economic Security Dialogue in the first half of the year as well as the Vice Ministerial Strategic Dialogue last month, all of the intergovernmental consultations have now been restored as agreed upon during my visit to Japan in March.
I will continue to work together with Prime Minister Kishida to facilitate our countries communicating closely with each other in various fields, including through high-level economic consultations.
